It’s all about Bitcoin
Existing Moody’s customers that the product manager interviewed were interested in conducting analysis on Bitcoin specifically to see current trends, historical trends, and short and long term predictions. With the SEC having just accepted bitcoin ETFs in the crypto market, this marked a prime opportunity to create a tool to help investors monitor certain data about bitcoin ETFs.
My role
I worked on the proof of concept desktop dashboard to help investors interested in monitoring Bitcoin understand its price fluctuations and other details.
Product Requirements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
To kickstart wider discussion around what metrics we should include, I worked with the product manager to come up with an initial wireframe of such a dashboard.
From this initial low-fidelity wireframe, the product manager then provided me with a more detailed list of metrics and their respective values, which I then used to construct the high-fidelity mockup.
Competitive Overview
Seeking Ideas For Inspiration and Learning
Most of the apps in production today lend themselves towards a dark theme and dense depictions of data, while the design-forward mockups on sites like dribbble feature a light theme with less dense tables and charts.
I decided to follow the dark theme trend (this choice also appeased senior leadership), but I wanted to make the interface more approachable to investors who may not know all the ins and outs of bitcoin or cryptocurrency.
